Sussex Circle is a small consulting group providing advice on strategy, policy,
organization, finance, and communications to senior clients in government,
business, and the voluntary sector. The firm does not engage in lobbying or
government relations activities.
Sussex Circle's reputation as a source of strategic and organizational advice
is founded on the strengths of its team of senior consultants. Drawing on their
many years of experience, the members of the firm find solutions to problems in
public policy, organizational renewal, public service reform, strategic planning,
strategic business analysis, regulatory affairs, international trade, project
structuring and finance, public-private partnering, communications and issues
management. Together, the members of the Sussex Circle team have worked at
senior levels in virtually every area of public policy.
Through work with executives and managers across the spectrum of federal departments
and agencies, as well as with those in other governments in Canada and abroad, our members
have developed a profound knowledge of government - in both theory and practice. They
understand the challenges facing government in a rapidly changing Canadian and
international environment. They also understand the issues that the private sector and
non-governmental organizations must address in dealing with government and with government
policy.

Our Experience
Sussex Circle has undertaken a wide range of work for clients in the public, private and
not-for-profit sectors, in Canada and abroad.
- Since 1994, we have provided advice to virtually every department and agency of the
Government
of Canada, as well as to a number of Crown corporations.
- This work has included:
- strategic reviews and plans,
- organizational studies,
- advice on restructuring and human resources issues,
- policy studies and recommendations,
- program development, and
- preparation of major policy documents and presentations
for departments, central agencies and Cabinet.
- We have provided support to parliamentary committees in the areas
of foreign and defence policy.
- Our members have served the provincial and municipal
levels of government, providing research support to a major
public enquiry and advice on municipal amalgamation in Ottawa.
- We have provided advice to major international
firms in the private sector, primarily with respect to the
implications of government policy.
